Bret Michaels, the frontman of POISON, has responded to his bandmate Rikki Rockett's claims, and it's a wild ride. In a recent Facebook post, Michaels addressed the band's potential reunion and the rumors swirling around their 2026 tour plans.
But here's where it gets controversial... Michaels indirectly addressed Rockett's claims that he, Michaels, was demanding an unfair share of the tour profits. In his post, Michaels congratulated GREEN DAY and Bad Bunny on their upcoming Super Bowl performance and wished Rockett a fun night at the Metal Hall of Fame ceremony. He also made it clear that POISON, to him, is a four-piece band, including himself, Rockett, guitarist C.C. DeVille, and bassist Bobby Dall.
Michaels emphasized his love for music, fans, and the potential for a future reunion, but he didn't directly address the contract dispute.
The band last toured in 2022, supporting MÖTLEY CRÜE and DEF LEPPARD on a massive stadium tour. Since then, Michaels has been performing solo shows, mostly featuring POISON hits.
Rockett recently revealed to Page Six that POISON's proposed 2026 tour to celebrate their debut album's 40th anniversary fell through because of Michaels' alleged demand for a lion's share of the profits. Rockett explained that while he, DeVille, and Dall were on board, Michaels' demands made the tour financially impossible.
Despite the disappointment, Rockett insisted there's no resentment towards his bandmates. He even hinted at the possibility of touring with a different singer, but only as a last resort.
In a previous interview, Rockett expressed frustration with the tour's progress, stating that the ball was in Michaels' court, and time was running out to make it happen.
When asked about his relationship with Michaels, Rockett admitted they don't talk much but remain cordial. He also revealed that he and Michaels have a history of heated confrontations but have always managed to work things out.
Rockett addressed the recent comment by Pete Evick, Michaels' music director, who suggested that Michaels gets the lion's share of touring revenue. Rockett clarified that Michaels' demands go beyond that, making it nearly impossible to run the band's production.
